If I tweak this slightly to give it a WoW slant it becomes: Chance favors the prepared RAIDER
Unfortunately Zombie got a late start in life. Now we only 4-5 months to accomplish what the established guilds accomplished back when we were still in Kara. To do this we ALL really need to be at our absolute best. By this I mean you show up to the raids with EVERY advantage no matter how minute it may seem. This includes but is not limited to:
* Show up in a raiding spec, not a pvp spec
* If special gear is required for a boss, you show up with it in your bags. This includes frost/nature resist sets for Hydross tanks, fire resist sets for Leo and Anetheron tanks, shadow resist pieces for ZA/MH/BT, pvp trinket for MH, etc.
* Have whatever macros are required at the ready before the raid starts. This includes the tainted core macro for Vashj, the spitfire totem for Fathom Lord, etc.
* Your gear is socketed with AT LEAST all rare gems. No one should have any uncommon quality gem socketed in their gear! Ideally, we all need to be completely socketed with epic gems asap.
* Your gear is completed "enhanced" by which I mean that EVERY piece that can have an enchantment, glyph, armor kit, thread, or inscription applied MUST have one applied.
* You bring a complete set of consumables with you to each raid. This means that for each boss fight everyone is running with a flask (or two elixirs), a food buff, and a weapon oil/stone/poison. On sunday in MH about half of the raid "failed" this simple raid preparedness check.
* You have done your homework regarding the bosses we will be facing. Our current progression bosses (in the order we are probably going to be using) are VASHJ (SSC), HIGH WARLORD NAJ'ENTUS (BT), AZGALOR (MH), and KAEL (TK). Even though we have downed Vashj before I list her here because she is by no means on farm status... yet.
* Talk to your class leader or use a site like elites jerks or max dps to improve your performance in the raids.
We cannot rely on luck to push us through this content. Come prepared to the raids or you may find yourself losing your raid spot to a person who is showing up prepared.
I will be checking for consumables in EVERY raid from this point forward. I also plan to do another gear audit to check for gems and missing enchants for our raiders in the next few days. PLEASE take a look at your gear now so you don't show up on these lists. Go to http://be.imba.hu/ and immediately start addressing any gem and missing enchant warnings.
