System upgrades for Wrath?

Anyone else upgrading there system for Wrath?

I am getting another gig of RAM for a total of 2GB which is, I think, recommended for Wrath.
I am also upgrading my video card from an ATI 9800 pro agp to an ATI X850 XT agp.

I have done it 6 months ago. 2G system memory and 64M video card memory. dual-core, can't remember the processor speed on the top of my head.

I upgraded my video card a little while back so that I can run WoW windowed in Vista. Its still not the fastest. I guess I'll find out tonight if I need to drop down to XP again :-)

Unfortunately I am running on a 4 year old Mac G5. Nobody makes AGP cards for those anymore and I had to go the ebay route... hopefully now I can bring up most of my effects setting up from low... BT last week was a slideshow 1-5 fps at times.

Tesc, take a look at the ati x1950 pro, it was made in agp bus, it's what I have in my desktop. I'll take a look and see if I can find it new somewhere, should be cheap.

As far as the research I have done, the ATI X850 XT is the best upgrade I can get for AGP for the G5 Mac. There were a few of them on ebay and I think I got the only one that was actually for the Mac, the others were flashed PC cards and VGA out only, which is crap. The good thing is I can sell my 9800 pro on ebay for about $200 =)

I also got and extra 2GB of ram instead of one and I have to say even that has help with my fps a little bit. The video card should be here Fri or Sat.

Silvyr: Actually Zen has two healers at the moment since Yeimi is holy so each team only needs to pug one healer... "only" I hope both teams can go - twice as much gear and guildies need gear! smile

Silvyr: My suggestion this week, given that Zen is down two healers, is to borrow Seattle and and a dps from Zen. Unless Seckua plans to run Zen and pug two healers.
