Effective immediately all 25-man raid teams will be overhauled. The high percentage of no-shows are killing our raids on a nightly basis. Not only do we lose 15-30 minutes EVERY night filling in the no-show slots, but we're also filling these slots with people that happen to be on. Frequently these people are undergeared and/or have never seen the content. This leaves us with 6-7 people that are not able to fully contribute to the raid (through no fault of their own). The entire raid suffers when we have no-shows.
The following are the attributes that are required for individuals to preserve or earn a permanent raid spot on a team:
1) You NEVER no-show. This means you are logged in and ready to go before the raid time. If you can not make it for whatever reason, you have posted a message on the website or contacted an officer indicating you can not make it ahead of time so the officers can arrange a sub.
2) The words "I didn't know I was on the team tonight" have never escaped your lips. Every person on the roster is there because they indicated that they were available for that raid night on the poll. Most substitutions occur within hours of the starting raid time. If you listed a "yes" on the poll, you may be moved into a permanent position at any time before the raid time. It is your responsibility to either check the calendar before the raid or log in just in case you've been moved into a permanent spot.
3) You are geared for SSC/TK. We have brought in multiple undergeared people into the raids because they are logged in when we're short but that is not fair to them or the rest of the raid. In truth we can probably manage 1-2 undergeared people but not 6-7 like we have done recently.
4) You have done your homework and know the boss fights. There's no excuse not to be prepared with the wealth of information available on the internet. Go to bosskillers and watch the videos. Don't expect to be spoon fed the boss strategies. Most of them are quite involved and take multiple exposures to master.
I have been aggressively recruiting members for over a week. Initially I was just targeting healers and shamans because we're suffering from a lack of both at the moment. I plan to open recruiting to all classes that are geared and can make our raid times. The permanent rosters for the 25-mans will consist of our reliable, geared members with new geared members replacing those members who have consistently no-showed or logged in late on raid nights. Moving forward, no-shows will lose their permanent spots and be relegated to the sub-list.
